Frontend Developer Internship

Plantasjen (June 2024 - September 2024 )

During a two-month internship at Plantasjen, recommended by a professor, I worked closely with two developers to redesign and launch the company’s new website. My role involved creating and implementing modular, reusable components, enhancing UI/UX with modern design principles, and optimizing performance for web responsiveness. The project resulted in a modern, user-friendly platform that improved customer engagement and highlighted Plantasjen’s product offerings effectively.

Piano teacher

Sandnes Kulturskole (January 2021 - Present)

Responsible for teaching piano performance, music theory, and harmony to students ranging from young beginners to advanced pianists. My role includes developing personalized lesson plans, preparing students for recitals and exams, and cultivating well-rounded musicians through a balanced focus on technique, theory, and interpretation.

A bit about me

I'm Jesús Alberola Herrero, a passionate musician and programmer from Spain. From a young age, my two great loves have been music and technology.

In 2019, after a decade of intensive studies at the Villena Professional Conservatory of Music, I graduated as a piano teacher and music composer. That was when I decided to embark on a new adventure and moved to picturesque Norway. Currently, I have the honor of being a piano teacher at Sandnes Kulturskole, where I enjoy sharing my love for music with young talents.

But... there was always an additional spark in my life: programming. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by video games and computers, and that interest never disappeared. So, in 2023, I decided to make an exciting career shift and started studying front-end development to fulfill that latent passion.

Now, I feel fortunate to combine my two great passions: music and programming.

Things I enjoy

🎵 Music

Music is my life. I love playing the piano and composing music. When I compose music, I am generally inspired by video game soundtracks, and therefore my music is orchestral and symphonic. However, I like everything, and that's why I play keyboards in a metal band, and I also produce trance music with my friend from Spain.

🕹️ Videogames

I have been a gamer since I was a child. I love playing video games, especially RPGs, retro games, and indie games. I am fascinated by the storytelling, the characters, and the immersive worlds that video games offer.

✈️ Travel

I love traveling and exploring new places. I enjoy immersing myself in different cultures, trying new foods, and meeting new people.

🍽️ Cook

I love cooking and experimenting with new recipes. I enjoy preparing traditional Spanish dishes, but I also like trying new flavors and cuisines from around the world. Cooking is a creative and relaxing activity that allows me to unwind and share delicious meals with my loved ones.
